: Personalized Job Consulting (Job Care) Service for Citizens

On March 2, 2023, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) made the "Personalized Job Consulting (Job Care) Service," an artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics tool that helps people choose and prepare for jobs throughout their careers, available to all citizens.

The Job Care Service was only available to job counselors at 480 job placement agencies, such as Employment Welfare Plus Centers, university job centers, New Job Centers for Women, and Job Centers for Middle-Aged People. Now, the Job Care Service is widely available to the public so that job seekers, including young adults, can take charge of their job and career exploration and develop job search plans that best fit their circumstances.

The Job Care Service for the general public can be accessed by logging into WorkNet (work.go.kr) and selecting Job Care. The service consists of six categories including My Job Skills (job skills analysis, career development path), Job Market Information (jobs, qualifications, vocational training, education, major, age), and Recommendations (jobs, qualifications, vocational training).

When a user creates a personal profile, WorkNet analyzes 19 million resumes and 5.8 million job postings and provides customized information on jobs, qualifications, and training needed to prepare for employment. In addition, users with limited work experience or training can use the "Keyword of Interest" feature to find jobs in their field of interest and the skills required for those jobs.

For example, you may have questions like: ➀ "I want to work in the field of artificial intelligence. Do I need to major in computer science, what kind of education do I need, and what qualifications do I need?" Then you can see how well your job skills match the needs of the AI field in My Job Skills, find the preferred skills, vocational training, and majors in Job Market Information, and use vocational training or skills information in Recommendations.

➁ If you studied humanities and want to work in the information and communication field, but have no relevant experience, training, or qualifications, you can enter keywords such as artificial intelligence and big data in the “Keyword of Interest" section of "My Data" menu and generate a Job Care report to see the job skills, training, and qualifications required for the information and communication industry.
